The Fund was established during the early 1980s under the name KSC Seminarians Fund by the then Nedlands Branch. Its objective was to provide support to those with a religious vocation, namely seminarians. In 1987, the Fund was closed and renamed the Monsignor O'Reilly Fund for Vocations and Seminarians. The Order administers the Fund under the direction of State Council.
